"The real difficulty is that people have no idea of what education truly is. We assess the value of education in the same manner as we assess the value of land or of shares in the stock-exchange market. We want to provide only such education as would enable the student to earn more. We hardly give any thought to the improvement of the character of the educated. The girls, we say, do not have to earn; so why should they be educated? As long as such ideas persist there is no hope of our ever knowing the true value of education."
Mahatma Gandhi
...on 2nd October 1981, KVR KVR & MKR College started its journey in the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi.
From its humble beginnings with Two courses, Two sheds and 35 students, the KVR KVR & MKR College has achieved what many people can only dream of.
Located in a small village called Khajipalem in Bapatla Taluq, Guntur District, the KVR KVR & MKR College is now offering Three Intermediate courses, Four Bachelor Degree courses (Arts and Science) and Two Post Graduation courses (Science) in Telugu and English mediums.
The college is now equipped with five multistoried buildings to facilitate its 900+ students.
A two storied Library building beside a Grand Stage area is conveniently located in the middle of the classroom buildings, while the 5 acre Mini-Stadium is located in walkable distance.
Needless to say that the state-of-the-art Computer, Physics and Chemistry labs are jewels in the crown.
A 50 capacity women’s hostel is conveniently located within the college premises to allow non-local students to stay during their course period.
What is achieved in this remote village is a proof of concept. Obedience, Character and Self Respect are part of our education and the core of our success.
